As part of your new hire onboarding process, you have been sent a laptop. Depending on your job role, you either have a Windows or Apple laptop. Please follow the instructions below to set the laptop up.
Connect the power adapter to a wall outlet and the laptop.
Turn on the laptop by pressing the upper right button on the keyboard for a few seconds.
You will greeted by a Hello screen that starts the process of setting your preferences.
Choose a system language and country.
At the Transfer Your Data to This Mac screen, select Set up as new
Enable any Accessibility options that you require
Connect to your home Internet connection. Select your Wi-Fi Network and enter your passphrase.
At the Remote Management screen, select Enroll.
You will be presented with an enrollment screen
Select Continue
Enter your Caribou email address and select Continue
Enter your initial password and select Login
You will be presented a screen that states that your account was found and that this device will be enrolled with Jumpcloud. Select Continue.
The enrollment process will take a few minutes
After enrollment, you will be asked to choose your Time Zone
Select Set time zone automatically using current location and Turn On Location Services
The next screen states Welcome to Mac. Select Continue
You will now see the Jumpcloud log in screen. Select your name and enter your password.
If you are unable to log in, please follow the instructions in the Help section.
When prompted to enable FileVault, select Enable Now. This process will take a few minutes
Enable any Accessibility options that you require
At the Update Mac Automatically screen, choose Continue
Once more, choose Continue
Congratulations, you are now at your desktop. In the background, Jumpcloud will download and install your initial applications. This will take about 10 minutes.
While you are waiting, you can set up Touch ID to be able to use your fingerprint to simplify unlocking to the laptop and your passwords/passkeys.
Once complete, continue your onboarding process by setting up Google Chrome

After Windows finishes starting, you will be presented with a log in screen
Connect to your home Internet connection. In the lower right, select your Wi-Fi Network and enter your passphrase.
Connect the laptop to a network using a network cable
Connect to WiFi by using the network icon in the lower right. Choose a WiFi network and enter the passphrase.
In the lower left, select "Sign in with JumpCloud"
NOTE: After connecting the laptop to the internet, you may need to wait a few minutes before the "Sign in with JumpCloud" option appears.
In the center, select "Click here to sign in with JumpCloud"
Continue to the next section Your username is present
Once authenticated, a process will begin that will create your account. This will take a few minutes. At the end of the process, you will be prompted to confirm your password and to create a PIN that you will use to log in.
Windows will take a few minutes to create your account and desktop session.
You will be prompted to Choose privacy settings for your device. Select Next
Congratulations, you are now at your desktop. In the background, Jumpcloud will download and install your initial applications. This will take about 10 minutes.
Once complete, continue your onboarding process by setting up Google Chrome
